The Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Council
has achieved the following goals designed to build system capacity
emphasizing community based services and supports.
- Completed a TBI Statewide Services
Need Study and Nebraska State
Plan
- Disseminated information and resource materials on brain injury
- Designated a point of entry for individuals to get information
on services: Hotline
for Disabilities Services Toll Free 800.742.7594
- Increased knowledge and skills of providers and agency staff
- Increased coordination of services
- Designated staff and educators to provide expert services on
brain injury for their specific programs
- Disseminated information and conducted training to increase
the awareness and capacity of service providers to serve individuals
with brain injury
- Established a Brain Injury Network of consumers with brain injury,
their families and professionals focusing on community awareness
and education Join the network
- Collaborated with Vocational Rehabilitation for the development
of an employment study and pilots expanding employment opportunities
- Helped to increase available alternative housing options www.housing.ne.gov
