Brain Injury Network
The network supports Nebraskans in acquiring and sharing information on brain injury, resources, and services.

Brain Injury Network Area Leaders
Area Leaders are your local connection to information. Area Leaders are members of the Brain Injury Network and some coordinate support groups. They have up to date information and can connect you to local resources.

Brain Injury School Support Teams
Students who experience a brain injury require an individualized approach to learning and living with the impact of a brain injury.

    Team members are available to provide strategies to support student success by providing:

  • Ways to support youth struggling with new identities
  • Methods to reintegrate students with their peer groups
  • Information and materials
  • Training
  • Consultation

Brain Injury Support Groups
Support groups are a resource for brain injury survivors, family members, friends, and interested professionals. Support groups provide a forum to share information, support one another, share personal experiences, and provide encouragement to others. Groups are members of the Brain Injury Network and receive information and assist in education and awareness.
Support group times and places may change, so please call in advance.

Answers for Families
Provides information about resources available to Nebraska families serving eight target groups: families with children with special needs; families with children with mental health concerns, foster and adoptive families; service coordinators; caregivers for persons with Alzheimer’s and related memory disorders, caregivers for the elderly; assisted living and school nurses.

at4all is a free online service to list and find equipment in Nebraska. There are a wide variety of categories to browse through including: ambulatory devices, children's equipment, environmental controls, lifts, ramps, vehicles and vehicle lifts, and wheelchairs. Equipment is available for loan, for sale, for demonstration, or for giveaway.

Hotline for Disabilities Services
Information and referral to Nebraskans who have questions or concerns related to a disability, including financial resources, rehabilitation services, transportation, special parking permits, legal rights, and any other questions related to a disability.

Nebraska Advocacy Services
Nebraska Advocacy Services can pursue legal remedies or other advocacy approaches to help people with brain injuries.

Nebraska Housing
A free online service to list and find rental housing and services in Nebraska.
On housing.ne.gov, you can:

  • locate available housing that best fits your needs
  • Search for housing using a variety of search criteria (number of bedrooms, rent amount, accessibility features, etc.)
  • Find helpful resources and supportive services.

Nebraska Resource and Referral System Database (NRRS)
Contains information about community agencies and organizations that provide services and telephone hotline resources to Nebraskans.

BIAA is the leading national organization serving and representing individuals, families and professionals who experience a brain injury.

The Center provides helpful information for the brain injury community including audiotapes, newsletters, and evaluation tools.

The National Resource Center provides relevant and practical information for professionals, persons with brain injury, and their families.
